Onboarding at dnata

Your first steps toward a strong start

Your start at dnata

Our operation runs on your strength and that starts with a strong onboarding.

To help you start safely, confidently, and well-prepared at dnata Schiphol, we guide you through a clear onboarding process. From background checks to uniforms — everything is arranged before your first day.

Working safely – Security Clearance (VGB)

Because you’ll be working in a secured airport area, a Certificate of No Objection (VGB) is required.

We’ll guide you through the application process with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee. Please note: the processing time can take 2 to 6 weeks.

Language check – Clear communication is key

Safe and effective work starts with clear communication. That’s why we ask you to take a short language assessment — in Dutch or English, depending on your role. It’s how we make sure you’re fully prepared for the job.

Personal details & documents

You’ll submit your personal information, work history, and ID through our secure portal. This completes your file and ensures everything is in order for your VGB clearance and first working day.

Collecting your uniform & ID badge

Before your first day, you’ll pick up your company ID badge, uniform, and any additional gear you may need. We’ll inform you in time via email or phone.

Training & Onboarding

You’ll start with an onboarding training covering safety, procedures, and your work environment. After that, you’ll shadow a buddy or teammate — so you settle in quickly and feel right at home in your team.

We set you up for a strong start

From day one, we invest in your growth, safety, and sense of belonging. Because at dnata, you’re not just a new hire you’re an essential part of our operation.
