Department and context

Within dnata Netherlands, internal and external communication is shaped in alignment with the HR leadership. The Communications Specialist contributes substantively by developing, structuring and coordinating communication, in close alignment with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires organisational sensitivity, overview and professional judgement. The Communications Specialist operates within an operational aviation environment with public and societal visibility and works within applicable (inter)national communication frameworks.

The Communications Specialist reports directly to the Director Human Resources.

Purpose of the role

The Communications Specialist develops and coordinates internal and external communication activities for dnata Netherlands and contributes to clear, consistent and well-aligned information provision for internal and external audiences.

The focus lies on carefully translating organisational developments and changes within a complex operational environment into clear and coherent communication. Where necessary, the Communications Specialist contributes substantively to written content and safeguards coherence and consistency in communication style.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and coordinate internal communication related to organisational developments and changes

  • Contribute substantively to internal and external communication outputs and advise on sensitive or complex topics

  • Develop and safeguard frameworks, formats and guidelines for external communication and corporate content

  • Support external communication related to operational events and organisational changes

  • Safeguard coherence, timing, quality and consistency of communication outputs

  • Identify communication-related issues and bring structure and overview to communication planning and processes

Job requirements

Profile requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level of thinking and working, preferably in communication, journalism or corporate communication

  • Extensive experience in a communication role within a complex and preferably regulated organisation

  • Demonstrated experience with internal communication, content creation and external communication

  • Excellent written skills in Dutch and English language

  • Ability to translate complex operational information into clear and carefully formulated communication

  • Organisationally sensitive, resilient and able to work with professional judgement within established frameworks

  • Affinity with logistics, aviation or airport environment
