At dnata you do not work in a standard warehouse.

You work in our modern cargo facility at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, where air freight is handled according to international airline standards, with advanced systems and strict cut-off times.

For this environment we are looking for professionals with experience in air cargo build-up. This may include experience as a ULD Builder, Freight Builder, Cargo Agent or Export Operator within an air cargo warehouse environment.

At dnata we are building a specialised build team where different levels are possible depending on experience and ambition.

This can range from a hands-on Freight Builder role within the export operation to positions where you support colleagues, share knowledge or contribute to training in build-up processes.

Specialised build roles within dnata

Within the build team we distinguish several levels:

• ULD / Freight Builder – building export ULDs within the operation
• Build Specialist – working with more complex builds and airline-specific instructions
• Senior Builder – guiding colleagues and safeguarding build quality
• Build Trainer / Coach – supporting training and knowledge development within the team

Within the team there is room for experienced builders who want to further develop towards a specialist or trainer role.

What will you do?

You will work within the export operation and build ULDs for departing flights.

• Building export ULDs for widebody and narrowbody aircraft
• Working with aircraft pallets and containers
• Building according to airline-specific instructions and contour profiles
• Palletizing and cargo build-up according to airline instructions
• Securing, netting and stabilising cargo correctly
• Monitoring weight and distribution within the pallet
• Working under strict cut-off times for flight departures
• Identifying irregularities in cargo or documentation
• Working according to safety and security procedures

You understand that the quality of the ULD build directly impacts flight safety, balance and operational punctuality.

Requirements

Experience within air cargo operations, for example as:

• ULD Builder
• Freight Builder
• Cargo Agent
• Export Cargo Operator
• Warehouse Operator (air cargo)

Experience with build-up or palletizing within air cargo is a strong advantage.

In addition:

• Experience within an airport environment is an advantage
• Physically fit and able to work accurately under time pressure
• Willing to work in a 24/7 shift schedule
• Minimum MBO level 2 working and thinking level (or equivalent vocational education)
• Minimum 8 years of residence within the EU (required for security screening)

Important to know

This role is specifically focused on export aircraft build-up operations.

It is not a general warehouse or truck pallet role.

Candidates with experience in air cargo build-up or export warehouse operations have a strong advantage.

Security Screening & Schiphol Access

For this position a valid Declaration of No Objection (VGB) is required.

To qualify for this screening you must:

• Have lived continuously within the EU for the past 8 years
• Be able to provide a verifiable employment and residence history
• Successfully pass a security background check

Without a valid VGB clearance employment is not possible.
