Job description

We are looking for a Duty Manager to join our Airside Cargo operation.

We are not looking for a specific job title. We are looking for colleagues with operational insight, the confidence to take responsibility and the ambition to step into a role where people, processes and results come together.

Whether you have gained experience as a Coordinator, held a leadership position before, or developed yourself through education and hands-on experience, we would like to hear from individuals who believe they can make a valuable contribution to our operation.

What will you do?

As Duty Manager Airside Cargo, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the operation during your shift. You will ensure that activities are carried out safely, efficiently and according to plan, while making adjustments whenever the operation requires it.

In addition, you will focus on process improvements and actively contribute to projects aimed at further developing and strengthening the operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing employees within the operation

  • Monitoring operational progress and ensuring the efficient execution of logistical processes

  • Identifying improvement opportunities and initiating process improvements

  • Leading or participating in operational improvement projects

  • Making operational decisions and escalating to the Manager Airside when required

  • Encouraging collaboration and ownership within the team

  • Conducting performance and appraisal discussions

  • Supporting absence management and reintegration processes

  • Representing the operation during airline meetings

Job requirements

For this position, we are looking for colleagues with experience managing employees in an operational environment and the ability to prioritise and make decisions under pressure.

In addition, you have:

  • Experience in a leadership role within air cargo, logistics or a similar operational environment

  • Knowledge of operational processes and people management

  • Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams and Excel

  • Strong communication skills

  • The ability to balance operational demands, people management and planning responsibilities
