About the dnata Control Center (dCC)
The dnata Control Center (dCC) is the central hub for coordination and planning of the 24/7 cargo operation. From the dCC, all information regarding current and future workload is collected, analyzed, and shared with both internal and external stakeholders.
The department fulfils a coordinating and steering role across functions such as Build & Break, Landside, Airside, Document Center, and ULD Control. Activities within the dCC include import flight preparation, export flight and truck planning, workstation allocation, and administrative coordination of import and export cargo in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with airline partners.
Purpose of the Role
The Manager dCC is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the dnata Control Center, ensuring a stable, predictable, and fully compliant cargo operation.
The role focuses on safeguarding operational continuity, meeting service levels, and the professional deployment of people and resources. The Manager dCC reports to the Cargo Director, is a member of the Operations Management Team, and provides leadership to, among others, Duty Managers and Operations Control Managers. The role drives performance and collaboration and actively contributes to the further professionalization of processes, decision-making, and stakeholder alignment within a 24/7 operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership and Performance
Accountable for the effective and efficient execution of the cargo operation within the dCC
Ensuring compliance with SLAs agreed with airlines and other contractual commitments
Optimizing the deployment of people and resources with a focus on quality, safety, and cost control
Leadership and People Management
Leading, coaching, and developing Duty Managers and Operations Control Managers
Fostering collaboration, ownership, and professional maturity within the team
Executing people management processes, including performance reviews, evaluations, and regular one-on-one meetings
Managing absence cases and contributing to reintegration processes
Initiating, planning, and facilitating required training and development activities
Process and Performance Management
Developing, implementing, and executing the annual dCC plan
Steering on KPIs, analyzing deviations, and initiating corrective and improvement actions
Continuously improving processes to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction
Ensuring accurate operational reporting and timely management information
Stakeholder Management
Working constructively with the on-duty Senior Operations Manager in day-to-day operations
Proactively executing approved policies and specific focus areas as defined within the Operations Management Team
Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including airlines, customers, customs authorities, and logistics service providers
Aligning and collaborating with internal departments such as Planning, Recruitment, Commercial, and HR
Representing the operation in governance and consultation forums and advising on the feasibility of SLA commitments
Systems, Compliance, and Safety
Ensuring correct use of operational systems and identifying opportunities for improvement
Contributing to system testing, optimization initiatives, and the development of super key users
Actively reporting and following up on operational disruptions
Ensuring compliance with QHSE guidelines, applicable legislation, and internal procedures
Identifying and promptly reporting incidents, unsafe situations, and irregularities
Maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful working environment and applying the principles of just culture
Required Experience and Profile
Bachelor’s level of working and thinking (HBO or equivalent)
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in an operational, logistics, or air cargo environment
Experience in a leadership or coordination role, or demonstrable readiness to step into such a role
Completed bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365
Experience with cargo management systems such as Hermes
Full professional proficiency in both Dutch and English, written and spoken
