Job description

Role Purpose

This role is a great fit if you have experience in logistics, air cargo or a warehouse environment. We also encourage you to apply if you currently work as a cargo agent, warehouse operator, order picker or forklift driver.

As a Landside Warehouse Operator, you will work at the loading docks or as a forklift driver within the warehouse. You will load and unload trucks, inspect shipments and process cargo information in our systems.

Using a forklift, you will move cargo and ensure shipments are placed in the correct location within our automated storage system. As you gain experience, you will learn both areas of the operation and have the opportunity to progress to the role of Allround Warehouse Operator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks carrying import and export cargo.

  • Check shipments for quantities, labels and possible damage.

  • Register and process cargo information in the system.

  • Sort and prepare cargo for further processing.

  • Move cargo within the warehouse.

Job requirements

  • Minimum vmbo-level working and thinking ability, preferably mbo level 2 in logistics or a related field.

  • Experience in logistics, air cargo, as a cargo agent or in a warehouse environment is an advantage.

  • A forklift certificate is an advantage. If you do not have one yet, you can obtain it through dnata.

  • Good command of either Dutch or English.

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.

Security Screening

A Certificate of No Objection (VGB) is required for this position.

To obtain a VGB, the Dutch intelligence service (AIVD) conducts a security screening covering the past eight years.

A positive screening result is a condition of employment.

Why Join dnata?

  • A full-time, 12-month contract with the prospect of permanent employment.

  • A gross monthly salary between €2,730 and €3,438, excluding shift allowances.

  • Depending on your roster, you will receive additional allowances for evening, night, early morning, weekend and public holiday shifts.

  • 25 vacation days, 8% holiday allowance, a pension scheme, travel allowance, free parking and free use of the Schiphol bus network.

Many of our managers started their careers in operations. You can grow into roles such as Allround Warehouse Operator, Coordinator, Duty Manager or Landside Manager.

Recruitment Events

Over the coming weeks, we will organise recruitment events at our Schiphol-Rijk location.

During these events, you will receive a tour of the warehouse, the import office and the dnata Control Center. You will meet future colleagues and managers and gain a clear understanding of the role, the working environment and the different processes within our cargo operation.

This gives you the opportunity to make an informed decision before joining dnata.
