Contribute to aircraft handling at Schiphol and ensure that aircraft can depart safely, efficiently, and according to schedule with your colleagues.

Job description

As a Platform Employee, you work on the platform of Schiphol and are involved in the handling of arriving and departing aircraft. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that baggage, cargo, and mail are processed safely and on time, so that every flight can depart according to schedule.

You can work with us both full-time and part-time. We are happy to discuss which form of work suits you best.

What will you be doing?

You will be involved in:

  • placing wheel chocks and cones around aircraft

  • operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE)

  • collecting and processing special baggage, such as strollers, musical instruments, and sports equipment

  • loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and mail

  • sorting outgoing baggage

  • counting and registering loaded baggage, cargo, and mail

  • keeping the work environment on the platform and near the aircraft clean and safe

  • working according to airport, airline, and safety regulations

  • collaborating with colleagues to handle aircraft safely, efficiently, and according to schedule

Full-time or part-time

You can choose a contract at dnata that fits your availability.

Full-time

  • a contract up to 38 hours per week

  • working in shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, and night)

  • a fixed schedule

Part-time (on-call basis)

  • an on-call contract of 3 hours per week

  • indicate your availability yourself

  • possibility to work extra shifts

  • easy to combine with studies, other work, or other activities

Job requirements

You have:

  • at least vocational education level 3

  • a good command of the Dutch and/or English language

  • a valid driver's license B

  • the willingness to work in shifts

  • the ability to be at Schiphol within one hour

Experience on the platform is a plus, but not required. We will provide training.

Important: VGB screening

For this position, a Certificate of No Objection (VGB) is mandatory.

Therefore, it is important that you:

  • have lived continuously in the European Union for the past 8 years

  • can demonstrate your residential and employment history

  • can pass a positive security screening

Without a valid VGB, you cannot start at Schiphol.
