Contribute to baggage handling at Schiphol and ensure that baggage arrives safely, efficiently, and on time at the right destination.

Job description

As a Baggage Handler, you will work in the heart of the baggage operation at Schiphol. Together with your colleagues, you will ensure that baggage is processed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule, so that flights can depart on time.

You can work with us both full-time and part-time. We are happy to discuss which working arrangement suits you best.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing baggage

  • collecting and handling special baggage, such as strollers, musical instruments, and sports equipment

  • operating a baggage tractor and transporting baggage between the baggage hall and the aircraft

  • loading, unloading, and moving baggage on the platform

  • checking baggage flows and reporting any issues

  • working in accordance with airport, airline, and safety regulations

  • collaborating with colleagues to handle baggage safely and according to schedule

Full-time or part-time

At dnata, you can choose a contract that fits your availability.

Full-time

  • a contract up to 38 hours per week

  • working in shifts (morning, afternoon, evening, and night)

  • a fixed schedule

Part-time (on-call basis)

  • an on-call contract of 3 hours per week

  • flexible availability

  • opportunity to work extra shifts

  • easy to combine with studies, other work, or other activities

Job requirements

You have:

  • at least vocational level 2 education

  • good command of Dutch and/or English

  • a valid driver's license B

  • willingness to work in shifts

  • ability to reach Schiphol within one hour

Experience in aviation is not required. We will provide training.

Important: VGB Screening

A Statement of No Objection (VGB) is required for this position.

Therefore, it is important that you:

  • have lived continuously in the European Union for the past 8 years

  • can demonstrate your residential and employment history

  • can pass a positive security screening

Without a valid VGB, you cannot start at Schiphol.
