Role Purpose

Do you have experience in logistics, air cargo or a warehouse environment? Do you work as a warehouse operator, order picker, production worker or forklift driver? Then we would like to hear from you.

As a Warehouse Operator Break & Build, you will work at the heart of Schiphol's international air cargo operation.

At this moment, we are specifically looking for colleagues who want to start as netters within our build-up operation. You will be responsible for correctly covering and securing built-up air cargo with nets in accordance with airline standards and safety regulations.

Depending on your interests, development and potential, you can progress to an all-round role within Break & Build. You will gradually learn all break, build and checking activities. The speed of your development depends on your ambition and performance.

If you prefer to specialize in netting activities, that is also possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Place and secure nets over built-up air cargo.

  • Work in accordance with airline standards and safety regulations.

  • Identify and report irregularities to the builder or coordinator.

  • Support daily activities within the break and build operation.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and efficient working environment.

Job requirements

What do you bring?

  • Minimum vmbo-level working and thinking ability, preferably mbo level 2 in logistics or a related field.

  • Experience in logistics, air cargo or a warehouse environment is an advantage.

  • A forklift certificate is an advantage. If you do not have one yet, you can obtain it through dnata.

  • Good command of either Dutch or English.

  • You are available full-time and willing to work rotating shifts in a 24/7 operation.

Security Screening

A Certificate of No Objection (VGB) is required for this position.

To obtain a VGB, the Dutch intelligence service (AIVD) conducts a security screening covering the past eight years.

A positive screening result is a condition of employment.

Why join dnata?

  • A full-time, 12-month contract with the prospect of permanent employment.

  • A gross monthly salary between €2,799 and €3,601, excluding shift allowances.

  • Depending on your roster, you will receive additional allowances for evening, night, early morning, weekend and public holiday shifts.

  • 25 vacation days, 8% holiday allowance, a pension scheme, travel allowance, free parking and free use of the Schiphol bus network.

  • Training and certifications through the dnata Training Academy.

Many of our managers started their careers in operations. You can grow into roles such as All-round Warehouse Operator, Builder, Coordinator, Duty Manager or Build Up Trainer.

Are you mainly available for night shifts? That is also possible. We will discuss your preferences during the recruitment event.

Recruitment Events

Over the coming weeks, we will organize recruitment events at our Schiphol-Rijk location.

During the event, you will receive a tour of the warehouse, meet managers and future colleagues and shadow experienced netters to get a realistic impression of the role.

This allows you to experience the work firsthand and make an informed decision before joining dnata.
