The Commerce Team

The Commerce department is responsible for generating new revenue, retaining and expanding customer relationships, and developing products that align with the strategic and operational capabilities of dnata. The focus is on profitable growth, new business and the structural expansion of activities with both existing and new customers.
Within Commerce, there is close collaboration with operational departments such as Warehouse, dCC and Airside to translate commercial agreements into feasible and reliable services.

Purpose of the role

The Account Manager Logistic Solutions is responsible for developing new business within logistics solutions that complement dnata’s existing portfolio. The role focuses on introducing, positioning and selling new logistics products, primarily to forwarders, e-commerce companies and airline-related customers.
The position requires a strong commercial focus, combined with the ability to assess logistics solutions for feasibility and operational impact. Clear targets are set in the areas of revenue, margin and customer development.

Key responsibilities

New business and commercial development

  • Develop and realise new business for logistics products such as CDS, CCS, ULD build, last-mile deliveries, and sorting and scanning activities

  • Engage forwarders and e-commerce companies following the onboarding of new airlines

  • Conduct an average of five customer visits per week with prospective clients within forwarding, e-commerce and AVI segments

  • Successfully sell all newly initiated products on an annual basis

  • Achieve a minimum net margin of €500,000 per year

  • Represent dnata at relevant trade fairs and networking events

Relationship management and customer satisfaction

  • Hold monthly meetings with existing customers regarding additional products, using the Nallian system

  • Proactively maintain relationships with airline-related partners

  • Work with customers to identify suitable solutions that support customer satisfaction and continuity

  • Stimulate collaboration with internal departments such as Warehouse, dCC and Airside

Administration and reporting

  • Accurately and timely record commercial activities in Salesforce

  • Manage prospect lists, pipelines, customer visits and appointments

  • Carry out sales prospecting for newly launched products

Compliance

  • Comply with legal requirements and internal procedures related to quality, safety, sustainability and the environment

Required experience and profile

  • HBO level of working and thinking

  • Completed HBO education in a commercial or logistics-related field, or demonstrably equivalent through experience

  • Proven commercial insight and the ability to identify opportunities within the logistics sector

  • Experience in a customer-facing commercial role with responsibility for customer satisfaction

  • Ability to assess logistics requests for feasibility and operational execution

  • The drive and effectiveness to convert prospects into paying customers

  • Analytically strong and results-oriented

  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written
