Department and context
The e-commerce operation is part of dnata Netherlands’ cargo activities and handles large volumes of inbound and outbound e-commerce shipments on a daily basis. The department works closely with warehouse operations, transport, planning, IT, QHSE and supporting staff functions. In this environment, good coordination is essential to meet customer commitments and keep the operation stable and reliable.
Purpose of the role
As Manager e-Commerce, you are responsible for leading and further developing dnata Netherlands’ dedicated e-commerce operation. You ensure that all processes related to the receipt, handling, scanning, documentation and delivery of e-commerce shipments run smoothly, safely and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
In this role, you combine day-to-day operational management with the continuous improvement and future-proofing of processes, working within agreed SLAs, KPIs and the approved P&L budget.
Key responsibilities
The Manager e-Commerce:
is responsible for the end-to-end e-commerce process, from truck arrival through to final delivery
leads the daily operation in close cooperation with the Coordinator e-Commerce and team leads
ensures effective alignment between operational, administrative and supporting functions
oversees compliance with safety, security and QHSE requirements and keeps the operation audit-ready
leads a team of permanent dnata employees and agency staff, with attention to engagement and development
monitors operational and financial performance and takes corrective action where needed
initiates improvements in workflow, automation and data quality
works closely with Planning and IT on further digitalisation and system optimisation
manages the e-commerce operation within the approved P&L budget
reports on performance, risks and improvement initiatives
Required experience and profile
HBO level of working and thinking
Education in logistics, supply chain management or a comparable field
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in warehouse or e-commerce operations, including people management responsibilities
Experience leading teams of permanent employees and agency staff
Affinity with cargo management systems and scanning technologies, such as Hermes CMS
Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and customs and compliance requirements
Strong organisational and communication skills
Good command of both Dutch and English
Able to maintain overview and set priorities in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
